Hello again!

Here’s a few nuggets from last week. As the new year is moving through and January is almost gone, I find myself thinking on the goals I want to achieve this year and further ahead.

I’m 35 years old and I’ve found myself lately thinking on age as a thing.

On that thing that makes you count your blessings and reassess your life. I’ll be 36 in less than 2 months (woot woot!) and that sounds so much closer to 40 now – and it’s an exciting number for many reasons. I love birthdays and I love getting older. I’ve celebrated my birthdays with piñatas since I was 20, bringing my people together, inviting everyone into feeling joyful and messy like a kid again, free of judgement to hit a big bag of candy hanging in the air. I’ve loved the feeling every single time! Yet I feel the desire to start doing something different about that. Not because I feel older or less fun, but just different.

It feels more like a deeper mindset thing where I find myself wanting to invite people over for some fun of a different kind. I’m still going through this in my mind but I can sense a change, a wonderful, interesting one.

In this process of thinking I’ve been wanting to truly reassess my life and how I want it to look, be and feel by the time I reach those awesome 40.

My notes on that so far?

  • I want to feel fit and fierce by 40.
  • I want to own a place or two in the places I love the most, the places making me feel the most me, the most empowered, free, calm and worldly.
  • I want to be nailing this business-owner thang and having had at least my first 2 books published.
  • I want to be free from any constraints from the past, recent or not, which are usually things in your mindset, in the way you were raised and the beliefs you were given through childhood – many of which no longer serve us as we become adults. I’ve known for a while, yet there’s always more to discover and work within. I love inner work. I fiercely believe it’s the key to everything! Hence what I do here for a living as a wellness doctor. 😉

While revising my goals after I’ve shifted from corporate to freelance, from steady income to constant self-doubt, from being seen successful to being seen as a mess, immature grown-up doctor who’s not making the most of her title, from having a beautiful home to living from a suitcase and uncertainty, I’ve realised how much I’ve gone through (and grown) in the process of knowing what I want next, being now decided and determined to a much stronger, clearer and different view of what I want my life to look like in four years time. 2022 will be incredible and I’m deciding it now. This is when it starts for sure, the day when you decide you’re taking action.

This week I wrote something on my FB wall – with one added piece of advice – and it’s only fair to bring it here. From my awareness well to yours. Take your time and please, think about it, particularly the last lines.

So, as I approach my next birth year which means a good time to reassess my life, count blessings and find ways to improve and feel a better human being, I want to invite you to do the same, wherever in your life you are. Maybe at a crossroad? Maybe at a steady point where you crave some change? Maybe at a low point where you need to be rescued from? Maybe on the top of your mountain feeling proud and perfect? Whatever the case, take just 5 minutes after reading this post, right here right now, to think how your life looks like and if it’s somehow like you’d like it to be.

For example, I’ve created a Pinterest board (check it out here) where I save images that make me think of that new season of life I’m choosing to go towards – with all plans, dreams, accomplishments, look, fitness level, lifestyle, small and big details of the bigger picture I envision as I walk into this future I’m building for myself. And the time to start building is now!
